LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST

Winter/Spring 2004

Love’s Labour’s Lost is the story of a King and his three companions who, in an effort to improve their scholarship, promise to fast and see no women for three years. This plan goes amiss, however, when a Princess and her three ladies-in-waiting arrive for an engagement the King (naturally) forgot. Owing to the lack of vineyards and castles in Boston, we transformed the play’s settings from the original French countryside to a 1950s American college campus. As members of a fraternity, the young men forsake their scholarly vows and avidly pursue the love of the young women. As BUSS’ second production, Love’s Labour’s Lost was a tremendous learning experience which culminated in numerous advances in our acting styles as well as technical operations.
