“The Scottish Play” meets sprawling Western epic in this reimagination of Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth. Out west on the American Frontier, sharp-shooting cowboy Macbeth and his wife, the ambitious saloon keeper, wrangle with prophecy, power, and the haunting aftermath of their murder plot on outlaw boss Duncan. Scottish castles, Weïrd Sisters, and medieval war transform into saloons, fortune tellers, and quick-draw showdowns in BU Shakespeare Society’s western-inspired cursed tragedy.
