Want to direct? Time to PITCH! At the end of each semester, we hold pitches for the following semester's production cycle. Directors may pitch a mainstage or a special project. Keep reading to learn about the pitch process!

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PITCH?

​

Voting members! Voting members are those who have participated in one or more productions in the past year OR who have actively attended GMs or other BUSS events. If you're not sure if you qualify as a voting member, just ask!

WHAT SHOWS ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE PITCHED?​

 

You can pitch any work written by Shakespeare, written by one of his contemporaries, or inspired by Shakespeare. Again, if you're not sure if a work is eligible to be pitched, just ask!

WHAT DOES THE PITCH PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

​

The pitch process is as follows:

​

1. November 9th: Pitch form opens! Every prospective director must fill this form out in order to pitch.

​

2. November 14th at 2 PM: GM #2! Not required, but we will talk about the pitch process in-depth.

​

3. November 20th at 5 PM: Pitch workshop! This is an optional but highly recommended session with our dramaturg to prepare for pitches.

​

4. November 29th at 12 PM: Pitch form closes! All prospective directors must submit by this time.

​

*All prospective directors are also required to meet with our dramaturg at least once between November 9th and 29th to review their pitch. This can be before or after the form is submitted. Pitch workshop does not count as this meeting.

5. December 5th at 2 PM: GM #3 , a.k.a. PITCHES! Prospective directors will present their pitch and answer questions, and then our voting members will cast their votes for the next production cycle.
